was featured in the November 2010 issue of Keyboard Magazine for his
work with Rubix Kube! Born Paul Armento and raised in New Jersey, Sky
began playing piano at age 6 and learned mostly by ear. His early
influences include Billy Joel and Keith Emerson, and then eventually
some classical pieces. Along the way he picked up bass, some rhythm
guitar skills, and vocals. His big musical landmark was when he picked
up a Casio AZ-1 "keytar" and learned to play it like a lead
guitar. Later, upon discovering the MIDI-port on his Atari
computer, he learned to produce music, and focused on writing and
arranging. Sky currently spends his time performing, producing music
for other artists, in addition to his original project, "The Ism",
which features lead keytar. He also plays keys in Black Dog - a Led
Zeppelin tribute - and keys, bass, and lead vocals in Jacobs Ladder - a
Rush Tribute. |
