DELVE INTO '12 WITH THE KUBE!

Happy 2012! Rubix Kube had a blast in 2011 with special guests: Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Colin Hay, MC Hammer, Naughty By Nature, Tony Hadley and of course, Bret Michaels! We were featured on MTV's My Life as Liz, Celebrity Apprentice and LIVE! with Regis and Kelly. The Kube toured the country and hit new stages from Boston Harbor to Arizona, and our weekly Saturday night shows at out home base Canal Room, NYC, drew thousands of new fans from all over the world. We were honored to welcome VIP fans from The New York Giants to Katie Couric.

RK is THRILLED for 2012 with some totally awesome stuff planned. We're in the recording studio with producers Ali Dee of Deetown (THEE go-to producer for Hollywood's silver screen) as well as the producing team Gary Lefkowith & Mike Rogers (Dee Lite, Reba McIntyre, Venga Boys, Chubby Checker). Stay tuned for upcoming national TV appearances on The Today Show, Celebrity Apprentice (again!), Discovery Channel, Sundance Channel and more! Most of all, we'll have more totally tubular SURPRISE CELEB GUESTS this year that will make 2012 our gnarliest year ever! 2011: THE YEAR OF THE KUBE!

January was a historic month of MONSTROUS proportions for The Kube! First we kicked off 2011 by taking the sold-out Canal Room 'down under' with surprise guest Colin Hay of MEN AT WORK. The crowd was in awe to see the Grammy award-winner (who introduced Vegemite to the U.S.) jam on his timeless hits "Land Down Under", "Overkill" and "Who Can It Be Now?"

Then your own Rubix Kube held its hugest night ever last Saturday, with two Back-To-Back SOLD OUT SHOWS featuring icons DEBBIE GIBSON and TIFFANY. We re-wrote history by bringing the two biggest 80's TEEN QUEENS on stage together for the FIRST TIME . . . EVER! Debbie and Tiffany each performed a few of their own solo hits with The Kube and then returned for the finale to sing Journey's "Don't Stop Believing"! TOGETHER!! And critics said it would never happen. Well, the song title says it all!

The magic continued two nights later when Rubix attended the premiere of Debbie and Tiffany's SyFy original movie, Mega Python VS. Gatoroid. The band walked the red carpet with the dynamic duo at NYC's legendary Ziegfeld Theatre and partied '80s style with Alan Thicke, Dustin Diamond, Downtown Julie Brown and past Kube special guest Taylor Dayne. Make sure to check out the movie on the SyFy network! Ginormous snakes and alligators don't get bigger or better than this, and the world finally gets that Deb/Tiff cat-fight they've been dying for all these years! Rubix Kube has started this week like Marty McFly in a Delorean! FULL SPEED, 88MPH AHEAD! The Kube is still beaming after last Saturday's show with our surprise guests, the legendary Hen Dog, Wonder Mike and Master Gee of the Sugar Hill Gang. The 900+ record-breaking crowd was shocked when RK introduced the trio and busted out with live versions of "8th Wonder" and "Rapper's Delight with these true pioneers of hip hop. That's right! David Z, bass player for Rubix Kube, may be the busiest bass player alive. We're so grateful he has time to squeeze us in! He's co-founder and one third of Brooklyn's beloved rock band, ZO2, stars in their hit IFC series, ZRock and is now gearing up to go on tour all winter with the world famous Transiberian Orchestra! Celebrate with Rubix Kube on David's "hitting the road" party night (Saturday, October 16th) before he jumps on the TSO tour bus! It will be an awesome night of surprises and music! Rubix Kube will miss David dearly, but will catch him on tour with TSO! You should, too. It's an epic show, not to be missed! Do you want your MTV? I know we do, and like, this Saturday, Sept 25th we will totally get it! Rubix Kube's Back to the Eighties Show is hosting a special guest and MTV is planning on filming! So if you want to be on TV, dress up in your favorite 80s gear and head on down -- come early at 2pm for some filming during the day then stay for the show, which starts around 11PM.Remember, the better you're dressed up the better chance you have of being on TV!

This just in, Rubix Kube is happy to be performing at a special Help For Haiti benefit concert at our home base club, the Canal Room in Soho, NYC, on Wed., Feb. 3rd. Also on the bill that night will be the amazing U2 tribute band Unforgettable Fire; Hugo formerly of Journey tribute Evolution backed up by Rubix for a set of incredible look-and-sound-alike performances of Journey hits; and making their Canal Room debut, Police tribute band Invisible Sun. Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash Performs with Rubix Kube

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and original member of the LEGENDARY Grandmaster Flash & Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Melle Mel took the stage with Rubix Kube on January 16th. The very first rapper in music history to dub himself an MC, Melle Mel delivered his classic hits, "The Message" and "White Lines" with Rubix Kube backing him up with smooth vocals, funky beats and those famous, infectious bass lines. Not before flexing his guns and inspiring the entire Canal Room crowd to follow him in a dance/slide move, he charmed the sold out audience with his inspirational raps and his classic old school style. Rubix Kube is honored to have taken the stage with such a great man and true music pioneer. It's a night the Kube and the fans in attendance will NEVER forget!

Rubix Rocks Miley Cyrus' birthday party!

Now it can be told - we had to keep it strictly under our collective hat until it happened, but now we\'re busting to tell our friends all about it: this last Wednesday night, 11/18/09, Rubix Kube played a private 17th-birthday-party bash at our home base club, the Canal Room. The guest of honor and birthday girl: none other than one of today\'s hottest tv, movie and pop-music stars, Miley (Hannah Montana) Cyrus! Turns out Miley\'s people had special-requested a set list focusing exclusively on the \"hair-metal\" hard-rock genre of 80\'s music, and we delivered, cranking up our regular set with a whole slew of specially-prepared new tunes by the likes of Warrant, Skid Row, Poison and Van Halen. Miley and her friends and family danced and rocked out to the band non-stop all night long, and to our amazement she looked like she knew all the words to every song! OH yeah, special on-stage guests included our good friend Paulie Z from ZO2 and Axl Rob the greatest faux-Axl-Rose to be seen and heard anywhere; but also American Idol finalist and current star of the Broadway musical Rock Of Ages, Constantine Maroulis, and two of his fellow \"Rock\" castmembers, Kelly Butler and Tommy Kessler. Anyway we\'ll have some pics that Miley took with us up in the photos section soon!

That's right, hitmaking 80's superstar Bonnie Tyler ("It's a Heartache," "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and more!) will be joining NY's #1 80's tribute party band Rubix Kube on-stage at the Canal Room in Soho, NYC, to perform one of her biggest hits backed up by the band! We are all super excited and hope all our friends and fans will be there to join us for this unforgettable musical experience.
